The Math formula of Happiness

The essence of Mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple- S.Gudder

Happiness is not buying an expensive car, living in a big bungalow ,wearing expensive ornaments or branded clothes.

If this is the definition of happiness ,every person in the world owning these things must have been happier .But ironically, this is not the fact.

These are all materialistic things which can bring temporary smiles and happiness and doesn’t last for a longer time.

Have you ever seen a kid enjoying a lollipop 🍭 he is so busy and enjoys that moment thoroughly 😄.

This is Happiness.

Happiness is

#Living in the present moment

#Gratitude for what we have

#Resillience

#the ability to laugh on yourself

And most important

#playing the game of subtraction

Actually ,Happiness is “A state not a trait “

In my opinion, Happiness is like maths which increases on subtraction and decreases on addition.

Finding strange, Me too, as a child and most of us think that Happiness increases on addition.

Even our TV commercials makes us believe that the key to a good life is a nicer job, an expensive car ,a prettier girlfriend a big house or branded clothes.

The world is constantly telling us that the path to a better life is more ,more and more .It causes is to become overly attached to the superficial and fake ,to dedicate our life to chasing a mirage of happiness and satisfaction.

The key to good life is not giving about more ,it’s giving about less.

Try an experiment —Each and every time you think of adding something to your life, just ask yourself that adding those things will bring you closer to life you want or distract you from it ; delay its attainment

Then ask yourself that instead what you can remove from your life that will bring happiness whether its physical ,mental or financial. Who and What is a negative in a life and what would you like to subtract? If it’s a person ,then it’s simple …not really ?

Perhaps not easy but simple nonetheless.Make yourself less available. Try saying NO to a few things.

Adding a list of so many friends doesn’t bring happiness but subtraction does

Happy people usually avoid things which make them unhappy

I’ll give you an example ; One of my friend use to buy expensive gifts to her children and poor kids they were scolded every time while playing with those expensive toys. ( play carefully , the toys will break, these are so costly and so on …)

When you buy expensive watches ,clothes and shoes and if accidentally something happens to those so called precious items, we crib a lot ….Awww , it was so expensive and for so many days we are like that .

On the other hand if same situation arises to the stuff which you have bought from the roadside; Ofcourse you are not liking it but somewhere, you are like OKAY!

Do you think ? These valuables are adding happiness

No

The idea is “KEEP IT SIMPLE

The point here is “the easiest path to happiness(and wealth as it happens) is to play the game of subtraction NOT addition

The Master doesn’t seek fulfillment. Not Seeking, not expecting, she is present, and can welcome all things.
